Ruskie the Westie is up for adoption

Name: Ruskie
Age: 5 yrs (Born in 2003)
Breed: West Highland Terrier (Westie)

Other Info: Paper Train, went through basic training and know command such as sit, down, roll, and etc
He is no good with other dogs and kids. Food Aggressive, bite when it is eating, but know how to sit and wait for food.
And previous incident of him biting when being pushed away.
Dun be deceived by the innocent look here... this fellow can be a real brat. Looks like the previous owner never did train the little brat properly. But I think he should be given a fair chance. All he needs really is some good old guidance and a show of just who is boss. Anyone interested?

Please email killertouch@hotmail.com for an interview appointment. Please include your full name, address, contact number and any other questions you might have. This is going to be a handful and experienced dog handlers are preferred.

Basic advise on how to curb his little episodes will be given from my very own Pa. Whether you will be consistent about it is another matter.

Owner should do rehab, train & love Ruskie all over again instead of just giving him away to SPCA or others with aggression problem.

SPCA will put it to sleep if given to them. This is not fair to Ruskie. It is not the dog's fault but owner's when a dog becomes aggressive. It is the owners responsiblity to train the dog & be consistent & firm in the training.

Therefore, Mr Owner pls be responsible & love your westie again from the start & be patient in the rehab. Remember the 1st week of love you have for him when he just arrive.

Eeek! Anonymous, you might think that whacking solves the problem but it actually doesn't. Infact, the dog will be more aggressive coz it would want to defend itself from being whacked so it will bite more. And if any hands come towards him especially his face, he will think he's gonna be whacked when actually the person is just trying to give him a pet. He will bite it also no matter what. Certainly isn't a good thing to do is it? Plus your hand is gonna turn into one piece punctured meat after a few chunks taken out of it right? So think wisely & do your studies more before you actually do it.

Peace out!

Hi,
This is very sad. Westies are known to be intelligent and easy to train. If you are serious on helping him, you should get a pet behaviour expert to train him.
If you are determined to give him up, put up an ad on www.petschannel.com. There are many who would love to adopt a westie. But pls do a thorough interview, obtain IC number and address before you decide. There are cheats out there who are out to make a quick buck. All the best.
